that seems to suggest otherwise, TYPE O NEGATIVE frontman Peter Steele HAS NOT
DIED.
The band, who are famous for their dark sense of humor, have spent much of the
last few months preparing material for their SPV Records debut, which is
expected to be recorded later in the year.
TYPE O NEGATIVE cancelled their U.S. tour last fall in order to allow
Steele to
undergo further tests after "undisclosed anomalies" were discovered during a
medical exam. A February 11, 2005 update on Peter's condition from TYPE O
NEGATIVE drummer Johnny Kelly stated, "There really isn't much to report other
than he's doing fine and his health is improving daily."
TYPE O NEGATIVE, whose first album, "Slow, Deep and Hard", was issued in 1991,
fulfilled their contractual obligations to longtime label Roadrunner with the
release of 2003's "Life Is Killing Me". That album debuted on The Billboard
200
chart at No. 39 in June 2003 after registering a first-week sales tally of
27,023 copies. TYPE O NEGATIVE's best-selling album to date is 1994's "Bloody
Kisses", which has shifted around nearly a million copies in the U.S.,

Legendary video director and founding BATHORY member Jonas Åkerlund has spoken to Sweden's Expressen newspaper about the passing of BATHORY mastermind Thomas "Quorthon" Forsberg from what is believed to be heart failure. Forsberg, who was known to have been battling heart problems for years, was found dead in his apartment in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday (June 7). He was 39 years old.
"It's so sad. He had much more to offer," Åkerlund said.
Jonas, who formed the band with Forsberg in the early '80s, went on to have a successful video-directing career, having worked with the likes of METALLICA, PRODIGY, MADONNA and U2.
"[BATHORY came onto the scene] extremely early," Åkerlund said. "People like Marilyn Manson, Billy Corgan and the members of METALLICA have all come up to me and have told me that they listened to BATHORY."
According to Åkerlund, it was Thomas Forsberg's creativity that made the band such an influence on so many younger metal acts.
"[Quorthon] had a high cult status," Jonas said. "He wasn't interested in attention, he just wanted to play his music."

D'ailleur ils préparé un album, mais il l'on finit avant que Quorthon ne meur, mais il ne sortira jamais puisque c'est lui qui avait tous les droit. Vvornth et Kothaar non aucun droit su les compos.

"VOIVOD guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour passed away Friday night (August 26) at approximately 11:45 p.m. due to complications from advanced colon cancer — so advanced that the disease had spread to his liver. D'Amour slipped into a coma Thursday night and died less than 24 hours later in the palliative care unit of a Montreal hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He was 45 years old.
Quebec City newspaper Le Soleil reported yesterday that D'Amour — who was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier in the summer — first entered the hospital for a routine operation, but several complications led his doctors to suspect more problems. Then the grim verdict was revealed: the cancer, already too advanced, was inoperable.
Only two months ago, D'Amour was in the studio working on the 14th album from the Canadian thrash-metal pioneers VOIVOD. More than two dozen tracks are believed to have been demoed for the CD, for which the group recently inked a deal with The End Records. However, the band were forced to put studio work on hold while bassist Jason Newsted (ex-METALLICA) was treated for tendonitis.
In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Newsted spoke about the material slated to appear on the group's next CD. "It's the most complete demos I've ever been involved in," he said. "[VOIVOD singer] Snake has already chosen his effects — exact timing of milliseconds for delay. We've had a long time to develop the demos, so there's about 23 or 25 songs that are absolutely listenable right now."
Newsted was a huge fan of VOIVOD before he was invited to join and he remains a great admirer to this day. "They created something a long, long time ago that may have been emulated many, many times since — but nobody can do it like the original," he offered.
Prior to his hospitalization, D'Amour laid down guitar tracks for a reunion CD from the legendary AUT'CHOSE, a '70s band from Montreal. That album is expected to surface next summer. "

jai eu des flash backs!!
mes années colleges disparaissent avec ces glorieux disparus!
eux seul etait la pour me remonté le moral...
et la,je les voies ,les unapres les autre disparaitre...
commes les vieux elepphants quittant la harde pour rejoindre le cimetiereavec mes souvenir de jeuness (jsui pourtan encore un sale gosse!)

En plus bonjour l'actualité.
Aux dernières nouvelles Fernand Raynaud, Bourvil et Fernandel ne vont pas très fort non plus. Et Pierre Dac est au plus mal.
